Insurance giant Norwich Union has confirmed it is to meet the management of MG Rover Group, after refusing mortgage protection to an MG Rover employee on the grounds of "uncertainty" over the car producer's future.
Parent company CGNU refused to give a mortgage protection quote to 40-year-old car dispatch worker Vincent O'Meara. The insurer has now agreed to meet MG Rover's chairman John Towers, whose Phoenix Consortium bought the closure-threatened company from BMW for a nominal £10 last May
