Brokers have few places to turn for IT support. But with Y2K on the horizon and greater use of IT in business, something must change.

About a year ago, I wrote an article for Professional Broking in
which I aired the view that Brokers were the "ignored breed" as far as IT
was concerned.


Even though many insurers relied totally on the high street broker for
generating their new business, these brokers did not appear to get real IT
support from any quarter - the insurers, the trade bodies, the broker
software vendors or the hardware suppliers.


So over the past 12 months, bearing in mind that the personal lines market
has continued
