The Faculty of Insurance Broking will provide brokers with support on technical and soft skills, and regulation.

Alexander Scott, director general of the Chartered Insurance Institute, said: "Within the broking community, a glass ceiling is being introduced where, above it, big companies can afford to spend time and resources meeting these new rules.

"In order to help those below the glass ceiling, we have introduced the Faculty of Insurance Broking.

"We want it to focus on the broking community
