Another industry blunder.

The insurance industry's handling of the claims for asbestos-related mesothelioma has been one clumsy mistake after another, which has only served to further tarnish its reputation.

How does the insurance industry do it? Shoot itself in the foot that
is.


The latest example comes over its clumsy, ill-advised and badly handled
attempts to wriggle out of paying claims for asbestos-related
mesothelioma.


This issue has been occupying trade unions and MPs for some time, as the
big employers' liability insurers tried to find ways of limiting their
exposure to asbestosis claims. Furious debates at trade union conferences
were followed up by Early Day Motions in the House of Commons
