Thin client technology (TCT) has been around for some time, but it isnow becoming more readily available. It is almost like going back to the
old Unix or Mini-Computer idea with a big central file server and large
numbers of inexpensive dumb terminals.
Thin client network requires a large central server to host the
applications, such as broker quote software, plus a server to host the TCT
(eg Citrix, and Microsoft' s new Terminal Software, included in the new
Windows 2000 system).
