Peter Best has turned his passion for classic cars into a successful insurance brokerage. He talks to Diane Smyth about the advantages of niche schemes.

Broker Peter Best Insurance celebrated 15 years of business and a
gross written premium approaching £4.5m in 2000, and plans to expand this
to £10m in the next five years.


Peter Best, co-founder and business development manager, believes this
expansion will be essential to staying afloat in the future. He states:
"To be meaningful to big insurers, brokers have got to have a substantial
account."


Mr Best has built up his client base carefully, concentrating largely,
though not exclusively, on motor
