Bupa has acquired £3m of group risk business from insurer Generali,
including 250 small group life and income protection schemes. The
expansion of Bupa's group risk portfolio means it has been able to cut
premiums by 10% on group life schemes. Brian Bartley, head of operations
for Bupa Health Assurance, said: "We added nearly £5m of group risk
business to our portfolio in 2000, which represents a huge increase
compared with the previous year."
