The rise in the number of people working from home is not being mirrored in the sales of homeworkers insurance policies. Steve Banner looks at why this is and how brokers can tap into this market.
Over two million people in the UK - roughly 7.6% of the workforce -work from home, according to BT. That is more than any other country in
Europe, says BT, and the number is set to rise.
European Commission research into new methods of work predicts that 10%of
the UK population will be made up of teleworkers by 2004. A study by the
National Economic Research Association predicts that the number of
teleworkers will rise by 400% over the next 10 years.
So why are sales of policies for homeworkers
