High Street brokers were given a warning last month at the Post
Magazine Insurance '99 conference that they could be squeezed on
commercial and personal lines.


The warning came from Andy Miller, managing director of Impact Plus, who
said the advent of true e-commerce would create a new generation of "EDI
intermediaries who will target small-scale commercial business and succeed
in grabbing a share of that market from traditional local-relationship
brokers".


He said this threat would run in tandem
