High net worth property owners should protect themselves from burglary with monitored alarms and dogs, Independent Insurance has warned.The insurer drew its conclusions from qualitative studies by Discovery Research which included interviews with retired burglars. The burlgars revealed that only alarms and dogs had really deterred them and also stated that they had targetted pictures, silver, chairs, jewellery, antiques and clocks.
