Two of the largest travel agents have reacted to the Monopolies and
Mergers Commission ruling on linking the purchase insurance of insurance
with holiday discounts by offering policies for free.


The ruling banning conditional selling, designed to make sure that travel
discounts are available to all holidaymakers, came into force on 16
November.


The same day, Thomas Cook and Going Places both announced that they would
be offering free or discounted insurance on selected holidays. Another
