In response to competition from building societies and banks, IFAPortfolio, the service company of the IFA Association, has produced a
mortgage and income protection policy called Security First, which
provides six months free unemployment cover.
While renewal at the end of the six months is left to the client's
discretion, market research by IFA has shown that 90% of customers wish to
retain the cover. In these instances, the IFA will automatically receive
commission of 21%.
