A sustained opposition from brokers, broking and parliamentary groups is gathering pace in an attempt to force the Financial Services Authority to change its position on the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
The FSA, despite refusing to re-examine the rules, resulting from Consultation Paper 174, which leave brokers potentially facing unlimited liability under the scheme, now faces growing opposition from a number of influential quarters.
