The new professional indemnity arrangements for solicitors couldforce some reputable practices out of business.
Steve Roberts chief executive of Zurich Professional told PB that some
"sound" firms practicing in high-risk areas of law may not meet insurers'
underwriting criteria and will find it impossible to get cover on the open
market. He said: "A firm heavily into conveyancing will be considered
particularly high-risk, as will firms who deal with lots of
litigation."
