The Financial Services Authority and Financial Ombudsman Service havepublished rules on complaint handling arrangements. The rules require
firms to deal properly and promptly with consumer complaints, and set out
the scope and operation of the Financial Ombudsman Service. Walter
Merricks, chief ombudsman, said: "The publication today of a single set of
