The Board of the General Insurance Standards Council will meet thismonth to decide whether to grant a discretionary solvency waiver to
members that only occasionally take commission on an earned basis.
Under the current rules, published last month, brokers and intermediaries
that take commission on such a basis are bound by stricter solvency
requirements.
Both the British Insurance Brokers Association and the Association of
Insurance Intermediaries and Brokers have argued that this is unfair on
