Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott met with health and safety chiefs
last month to discuss how to tackle the rising number of deaths in the
construction industry.


At the meeting, Mr Prescott, Bill Callaghan, chair of the Health and
Safety Commission, and Rodger Evans, head of the Health and Safety
Executive's construction sector, agreed to organise a construction
