Independence day.

Andrew Paddick has long been a supporter of broker independence and he explains to Diane Smyth exactly why he is fighting the GISC and how he feels its implementation will affect the smaller broker.

Those who have followed the progress of the General Insurance
Standards Council may be surprised to hear that Andrew Paddick, director
general of the Institute of Insurance Brokers, is not against the
regulatory regime.

He says he has been misunderstood: "I want the consumer to have good
advice and have redress. I haven't fought against GISC, I've fought
against members of the professional insurance broking community being
forced into GISC against their volition."
