The Western Provident Association has launched a new way to finance private hospital treatment, called Self-Pay Protect.Self-Pay Protect is a so-called maxi-cash plan, which reimburses 30%, 50% or 75% of all private hospital costs anywhere in the world, with a personal fund of up to £50 000 every year. The premiums are on average less than one fifth of the cost of traditional medical insurance because patients take some responsibility for containing the costs of the operations.
