Q: What should be the minimum specification for new PCs?

A: As soon as you buy the latest computer, a bigger and better one will be
on the market. You must standardise on a realistic machine and agree on an
appropriate length of time before upgrading. A PII 233mhz, 64meg RAM,
2gigHD machine with modem and a 17" screen would be the minimum, and would
cost around £650 from a major supplier.

You can find suppliers of second-hand computers and make large
savings.
