With the financial backing of Capricorn, Arnott Insurance is set to become a major force in personal lines broking. Tim Collison spoke to group MD Rob Ward about the acquisition of Century.

Boasting about being uninsured would not on the face of it seem like
a marketing winner for a high street intermediary. However, the "We Arnott
insured" logo is very well known in the North where Arnott Insurance's 25
branches are located.


Nevertheless, this catchy phrase will have to make way for new and
possibly grander marketing now that Arnott has bought Century Insurance
Centres in the South.


The deal was funded by international holding company Capricorn, which has
a 49% shareholding in Arnott
