Flying high at Cox.

Cox Insurance has just recruited one of the industry's high-flyers, Neil Utley, as chief executive of its retail division. Tim Collison says that if his past performance is anything to go by, Cox had better hold on to its hat.

At just 37 years of age, Neil Utley has a CV to die for. Senior
marketing manager at Midland Bank, marketing and sales director and then
deputy managing director at Provident Insurance, managing director of
Colonnade Insurance Brokers, chief executive of Privilege Insurance, and,
now, chief executive of Cox Insurance's retail division.


Despite his quiet, unassuming manner, Mr Utley is a very focussed
