Brokers have two fewer carriers this month, with the failure of
Lloyd's start-up Bluesure and the sale of Avon's general insurance
book.


This comes on top of the monumental insurer consolidation over the past
two years, the ensuing withdrawal of brokers' agencies, the failure of
Independent Insurance and the current capacity shortage.


Lack of capacity seems to be really biting brokers now, with the steady
trickle of broker acquisitions and mergers turning into a fully fledged
