The Insurance Brokers Registration Council is to take legal actionagainst 500 brokers that have failed to pay a levy imposed by the council
as a result of the pensions mis-selling scandal. The council is now
suffering a shortfall of approximately £25,000 as a result of the lack of
payment from the brokers which owe between £40-£70 each. The case will be
taken to the small claims court with the costs being taken from the levies
that have already been collected.
