About 20,000 Drake policyholders have had to face the prospect of
having their policies cancelled.


At the time of going to press, Jamie Smith, joint provisional liquidator
at Deloitte and Touche, said the policies underwritten by the collapsed
motor insurer would probably be cancelled from the beginning of this
month.


This figure is in addition to the 30,000 policies cancelled at the
beginning of July.


The first round of cancellations left about 170,000 policies to be
disposed of. Where possible
