Starting as a niche broker and then developing to personal lines, David Hinks hopes to expand Firebond further. Angela Faherty reports.
When David and Gill Hinks set up Firebond in 1993, the company was asmall high-street broker offering a telephone service to its
customers.
The Cambridge-based company has grown rapidly over the past nine years,
however. It now has a second office in Bingley, West Yorkshire, and has
extended its services to the internet. It has also gained Investor in
People accreditation.
The company deals primarily with personal lines and began by focusing on
niche motor areas such as classic cars and Land Rover
