The Insurance Brokers Registration Council has reacted angrily tosuggestions made by the Financial Services Authority that it may impose
further levies on its members for pensions mis-selling costs. The IBRC
believed the levy had been paid in full, however, a spokesman for the FSA
said the original figures were only estimates based on the advice of
actuaries. The IBRC may also have to resolve and fund disciplinary
procedures after the repeal of the Insurance Brokers Registration Act,
