As a growing number of dentists refuse to take NHS patients, more and more people are turning to private dental insurance to cover their needs, says Tim Collison.
One in four of us now turn to private dental care, paying, onaverage, three times as much as those on the NHS. According to analysts
Datamonitor, the average annual cost of private dental care for patients
who need more than one treatment in a year is £400. However, through a
dental insurance scheme, this bill could be reduced to about £150.
There are several different ways of taking out private dental cover.
The most common method is though a medical cash plan, which usually
includes dental cover
