The Chartered Insurance Institute has published a report on flood risks by the Benfield Hazard Research Centre. The report shows how the risk of floods is increasing in terms of hazard, exposure and vulnerability, and how it will impact on insurers. It predicts more than 200,000 houses in Britain could become uninsurable due to flood risk, while many more households can expect significant increases in their premiums as flood-mapping improves.
