The future for broker software is Windows compatibility. Brokerages and software houses ignore this trend at their peril, says Steve Banner.

Bill Gates and Microsoft are, not surprisingly, emerging as winners
in the broker sector software race. The major software houses are
increasingly making their products Windows compatible - if they have not
already done so. "Our Gemini commercial lines EDI system is
Windows-compliant, and the broker can use it to present the risk, obtain
the quote, and produce the paperwork," says Policy Master marketing
director Simone Romain. "It takes an enormous amount of cost out of the
whole quotation cycle
