Preston-based broker Catterall Insurance Services has come to the rescue of taxi and private hire car drivers left without insurance cover following the closure of its local competitor Goldleaf Insurance Brokers.Goldleaf, which started trading in September 2000, was found to have been operating illegally, without the insurance registration required to comply with the Road Traffic Act 1988. Goldleaf policyholders therefore found themselves effectively without insurance cover.
