Personal injury claims accounted for 18% of professional indemnity notifications for solicitors over the last year, an increase of 7%, according to Alexander Forbes' latest Solicitors' Professional Indemnity Report.
Glenda West, director at Alex-ander Forbes Professions, commented: "The disbandment of legal aid has led to a rise in 'no win, no fee' cases, which has subsequently made it easier for claims to progress."
She anticipates there will be a further rise in professional indemnity claims
