As more and more companies are switching on to the benefits of internet transactions, brokers are swapping their pens for keyboards in an effort to streamline working habits. Steve Banner explains.

Use of the internet has revolutionised the relationship between
premium finance houses and brokers. Fear of the millennium bug - the
disaster that never happened - sparked things off two years ago.


"Up until Y2K, many brokers still did not have internet connections," says
Ian Jerrum, chief executive of Singer & Friedlander Insurance Finance.


"Millennium bug worries prompted them to upgrade their computer systems,
and it was at that point they decided to become web-enabled.
