Richard Harvey, group chief executive of Aviva, is the new chairman of the Association of British Insurers. Mike Ross, chief executive of Scottish Widows, has stepped down from the role after completing his two-year term.
Harvey said: "Insurance is central stage in the policy agenda and we are set to stay there. This year, the ABI will continue to argue the case for government action to narrow the savings gap, pension reform and proportionate regulation of general insurance."
