Lloyd's broker Edgar Hamilton Group has bought the guaranteed agencybusiness of Miles Smith, which is facing debts of over £470,000 following
the collapse of an introducing motor intermediary.
Last month, Romford-based intermediary GB Financial Planning went bust
after failing to collect premiums on motor policies issued directly by
Highway and Zenith. As guaranteeing broker, Miles Smith - part of the
Greatminster Group - was left to pick up the debt.
