Companies in the UK are being targeted for Cigna's new employmentpractices liability cover.
The policy has been launched to protect companies from litigation arising
from new legislation, including: Working Time Regulations 1998, Data
Protection Act 1998, Disability Discrimination Act, and Fairness and the
Employment Relations Bill.
According to ACAS, the number of cases brought in relation to employment
tribunals has increased recently, and in 1998 there were more than 113,000
