Routes to Lloyd's are now more flexible than ever for provincial brokers and Stephanie Spicer explains that they need not feel as though they are out on a limb.

Over the past year, it has become increasingly difficult to place
even standard business locally, leaving some brokers little choice but to
turn to the London market. There have also been significant changes at
Lloyd's, meaning provincial brokers can now have direct access in their
own right.


Andrew Holman, managing director of Holman Insurance Brokers, says there
have been a lot of changes and restrictions in the composite market. This
means that in the regions, where brokers could once place
