Law unto itself

Martin Wright, managing director of Towry Law Insurance Brokers, tells Nicolle Farthing that regional focus and personal service have been maintained while expanding from an independent financial adviser to an international company.

Towry Law was originally an independent financial adviser, founded in
1958 by current chairman Cecil Towry Henry Law. In 1965, it launched an
insurance broking arm, Towry Law Insurance Brokers.


In 1991, Australian listed financial services group AMP acquired the firm
and Towry Law floated on the London stock exchange in 1993. TLIB managing
director Martin Wright says the group has kept its regional broker focus,
however, despite being an international, listed company.
