The Treasury has urged brokers to discuss their views on the
regulation of travel agents.


Peter McDermott, head of banking and general insurance at the Treasury,
said the Treasury was particularly interested in hearing brokers' views on
the scope of regulation by the Financial Services Authority. Speaking at
the General Insurance Standards Council's London roadshow, he specifically
referred to the sale of travel insurance by travel agents.
