Paying equal heed to management as broking has seen wholesale broker Thompson Heath & Bond go from strength to strength. Catherine Tennant talks to Vic Thompson about his strategy for success.

Contrary to its title, there is no Mr Heath or Mr Bond at Lloyd's
broker Thompson Heath & Bond, nor has there ever been. The independent
broker was set up in 1967 by chairman Vic Thompson, who says the name was
a reflection of the times. "A lot of brokers then had these three-pronged
titles and I thought it sounded better, but we are still looking for Mr
Heath and Mr Bond." Their absence has done the company no harm, however.
