A benefits package comes in many shapes and sizes but, for any company complying with UK and European legislation, certain aspects are essential.
The Working Time Regulations 1998 set an upper limit of 48 hours on the average working week (unless they opt out) and introduced a minimum annual level of paid leave - initially three weeks, and then four weeks from November 1999. This entitlement now applies also to part-time workers.
