As the mature market rarely transacts business via internet or phone, brokers are ideally placed to offer sound advice and combat widespread under-insurance. Jane Coppard explains.

The mantra 'No problem, the insurance will cover it' is uttered in
households across the country but for many it is simply not true. The
Association of British Insurers estimates that one in four households has
no insurance at all and a January survey by research company
MyHomeInventory showed that nine out of 10 home contents policies fail to
cover the cost of replacing valuables destroyed by fire or stolen.
