PricewaterhouseCoopers, provisional liquidator of Independent
Insurance, has written to brokers warning them that up to 200,000
Independent policies will be cancelled.


Dan Schwarzmann, partner at PwC, said: "There will certainly be over
100,000 cancellations and possibly even 200,000. Letters have gone out so
that brokers know what is happening."


Mr Schwarzmann continued: "There is a bit of an issue with numbers as we
are still getting to grips with the various books of business. It was not
uncommon
