Industrial injury claims are on the increase. It may be prudent for employers in the UK to follow the US example and introduce rehabilitation programmes to counter this growth, says Shona Cronin.

The use of rehabilitation programmes to control the costs of claims
resulting from injuries in the workplace is slowly starting to appear in
the UK insurance market. Although it is not widespread, those insurers
that are introducing programmes are optimistic that they will help to
offset low employers' liability rates and rising claims costs.
