Hiscox Insurance has slashed its agency base from 3000 down to just200 as part of its determination to focus on niche risks through selected
partner brokers and intermediaries.
Rupert Alabaster, business development manager at Hiscox, told PB that
many of the agencies that have been withdrawn were with scheme brokers
which the company inherited from Economic Insurance, the
Sittingbourne-based insurer which Hiscox bought in 1996.
