Mary Francis, who took over from Mark Boleat last month as directorgeneral of the Association of British Insurers, has said she will be
adopting an "informal but direct style" of leadership.
She joins the ABI from Buckingham Palace, where she was deputy private
secretary to the Queen. Before that, she was private secretary to the
Prime Minister, with responsibility for domestic and economic affairs.
Ms Francis told PB that she has three broad aims for her time in office:
