AXA was shocked by Francois-Xavier Boisseau's departure, according to
chief executive Peter Hubbard. Mr Boisseau has left to head up Groupama,
following former Groupama head Tim Ablett's decision to leave to run his
own health insurance business.


Mr Hubbard described Mr Boisseau's departure as "quite an upset", adding:
"He had a reasonable notice period but had to go on gardening leave
immediately - it is not appropriate to have the chief executive of one
insurance company working at another. He
