Insurers must embrace e-commerce or face extinction, the Associationof British Insurers has warned.
Two thirds of respondents in a survey of 80 insurers cited product
complexity as the biggest barrier to e-commerce.
Insurers were also concerned about regulation, integrating legacy systems,
security risks, electronic signatures and the cost of online
development.
The survey also found that 50% of companies felt they were failing to
fully exploit the potential of their websites. However, nearly half
