Grant Ellis, managing director of The Broker Network, used the
conference as an opportunity to speak out against what he described as the
"parasitic" insurance technology companies.


Mr Ellis said paying systems vendors per quote is like paying phone
companies a percentage of the price of takeaway pizzas. He stated: "Using
this technology has proved quite costly to the industry and very
profitable for the broker system vendors."


Mr Ellis said the development of internet transactions simply meant
