CNA Insurance and Maritime Insurance Company, both part of the CNAgroup, are to merge to form a single company.
The combined operation will have a total staff of approximately 130 and
gross written premium of $190m (£120m) for the end of 2000. The insurers
aim to write $250m (£155m) of business in 2001.
A spokesman for the two companies said the merger is unlikely to result in
any redundancies or office closures. It is not yet known if there will be
any changes to the management team.
